Other doctors told me that my lifelong jaw popping and pain were not worth addressing unless they were "debilitating" because there are "no great treatments for TMJ" and "significant improvement is not usually possible." After an extensive search for a provider who felt differently, I found these folks and I am so glad I did. They use a variety of instruments and imaging to identify and measure all contributing factors of the problem during the initial appointment, and then they treat and monitor all of those factors over the course of several months. My own treatment included the use of day and night removable appliances, ultrasound and laser therapy, and something called PRF which involves a few injections into the jaw area. I was also recommended a nasal dilator for sleep, which I didn't even realize I had a problem with until I started getting quality rest. The treatments themselves were downright pleasant, and there is rarely more than one patient at a time in the office which makes for a very personal experience. I just "graduated" from my active treatment yesterday, and I am delighted to say that I am no longer experiencing jaw pain, the popping has subsided, I'm no longer getting migraines, my sleep has improved, and my mood has been better than it has been in ages. I cannot recommend these folks highly enough for anyone struggling with TMJ or any other kind of head/neck/facial pain. The treatment here is truly comprehensive and the results are far better than I ever thought I could hope for. Thanks again to Dr. B, Kris, and Katie!
