Technology in the Practice
Learn more about the various types of technology we use to diagnose and treat your craniofacial or sleep-related breathing disorder.
PRF Injections
Unlock your body’s natural healing capabilities with Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) Injections at TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre of Pittsburgh. Our advanced PRF treatments harness the power of your own blood to accelerate healing and reduce inflammation, making it a perfect complement to our comprehensive TMJ and sleep therapy services.
Joint Vibration Analysis
Your jaw joints, also known as your TMJs, are the skeletal framework of your mouth. Every dentist is obligated to evaluate the condition and operation of your TMJs. Our practice uses Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA), which captures the vibrations produced as you open and close your mouth by joint fluid, cartilage, and bone. With just 10 seconds of opening and shutting, this test enables us to accurately assess and record the condition of your jaw joint.
It helps us diagnose problems with the joint, helping find the source of breakdown or pain.
MLS Laser
Our practice offers MLS laser therapy. It is a DRUG-FREE, ground-breaking technology that has been found to minimize swelling, lessen discomfort, and encourage healing. It is a Nd:YAG laser utilizing two wavelengths to reduce inflammation while increasing the production of the molecules that muscles need to repair.

I-Cat 3D Imaging
We employ cutting-edge I-CAT 3D imaging. This 3D imaging allows Dr. Belasco to create a precise treatment plan as he has the ability to view your maxillofacial structures in great detail. The imaging helps rule out pathology and gives information about the TMJ, nasal passages, and oropharyngeal airway.
Sleep Evaluation
Our office utilizes the Ring from SleepImage. The patient simply wears a Ring that records various vital signals. This helps us evaluate your sleep health. The Ring has undergone extensive validation and received FDA clearance to objectively evaluate sleep. The SleepImage Sleep Quality Index (SQI) is a simple unit of measurement for sleep health that may be used to explain to patients the importance and advantages of their therapy. This tool is a great fit for the dental sleep industry. It has been shown to be equivalent to the score from in office sleep testing (polysomnography) to evaluate sleep apnea.
